Full gut renovation of a 1940s semi-detached kitchen in Toronto's Roncesvalles neighbourhood. Custom maple shaker cabinets from a local millwork shop in Weston, Calacatta quartz countertop, and a handmade zellige tile backsplash sourced through Olympia Tile. Craft & Build Renovations started in 2014 when Marcus Delacroix left a project management role at a mid-size general contractor in Brampton and decided to run a smaller operation where he could stay close to the actual work. The first year was mostly drywall repairs and bathroom refreshes for neighbours in the Roncesvalles area of Toronto. By 2016, the crew had grown to four full-time tradespeople and the project list had expanded to full kitchen and basement renovations. The company has been operating out of the same shop on Dundas Street West ever since.
The turning point came in the winter of 2018, when a client referred Craft & Build to a property management company overseeing twelve townhomes in Etobicoke. That contract required coordinating plumbing, electrical, and finish carpentry across multiple units simultaneously, which forced the team to build proper scheduling systems and supplier relationships that are still in place today. Suppliers like Olympia Tile on Dufferin and Centurion Hardwood in Mississauga have been part of the supply chain since that period. The experience also made clear that the company's strength was in managing complexity without losing attention to the details that homeowners actually notice.

Marcus Delacroix grew up in Hamilton, Ontario, and studied construction management at Mohawk College before spending eight years as a project coordinator and then project manager at Meridian General Contracting in Brampton. He founded Craft & Build Renovations in 2014 with the specific intention of running a smaller crew where he could remain involved in the technical decisions on every job. He holds a Red Seal certification in carpentry and is a registered member of the Ontario Home Builders' Association. Outside of work, he restores mid-century furniture and is a reliable presence at the Dundas West Farmers Market on Saturday mornings.
We handle permit applications for all work that requires one, including basement finishing, structural changes, plumbing rough-ins, and decks over 24 inches above grade. The permit fee is passed through to you at cost with no markup. We also schedule and attend all required municipal inspections.
Currently our lead time for new projects is approximately six to eight weeks from signed contract to start date. If your project is time-sensitive, call us directly at ((416) 882-4730 and we will let you know if there is any flexibility. We do not overbook to fill gaps.
Yes. Every estimate is provided in writing, itemized by trade and material category. We do not give verbal ballpark numbers and then adjust later. If the scope changes during the project, we issue a written change order before any additional work proceeds.
We work in Toronto, Mississauga, Etobicoke, Oakville, Burlington, and Brampton. For projects outside that radius, contact us and we will let you know honestly whether it makes sense for both parties.
